Very nasty story about botfly larvae on wired.com. Pic of the beast in question after the jump, squeamish need not enter or read the story. You have been warned. Have a photo of some rally oppo to create a jump.
This is a botfly larva. It burrows into human flesh and feeds for a few months before it drops out. I couldn't bring myself to watch, but apparently the videos on the article on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! show the removal of the offending larvae. As in interesting side note, apparently this thing breathes out of its butt.

At least it doesn't breathe out of your butt.....
Then you may be taking a second look at those tiny spines...

I pulled some kind of larva out of my leg in college once. Itched like hell and this little white thing would retract into the circular wound on my calf. We waited until it came out again and my gf ran a needle through the proboscis and pulled out this little fat maggot thing.
My girlfriend was a farm type and she was unfazed, while everyone in the room basically lost their minds. Took a while for the itching to go away.
